The Beginning of a New Season
A brand new racing league kicks off with pre-season testing in Abu Dhabi and Barcelona with a good showing all-round. The pace from TheFlyingFinn08 was shown pretty early on, setting purple lap times consecutively in the sessions, with Man Lyk Ramer and CS Akihiro coming relatively close. It was clear that the STSF1 2015 Season was going to be a very competitive one.
The Season Opener - Round 1, Australia
The STSF1 Australian Grand Prix of 2015 lived up to it's expectations as an extremely close qualifying session sees MikeMarshmellow in the Mercedes W06 set the pace early on, putting it on pole position. The Scuderia had unforeseen circumstances leading up to the opening Grand Prix of the season and would be unable to compete. However, the race would still prove to be a close one, with MikeMarshmellow and TheFlyingFinn08 for Mercedes and Man Lyk Ramer for Lotus in a three-way battle for the win. TheFlyingFinn08 would prove to be the one to come out on top in the race with Man Lyk Ramer finishing close in 2nd and MikeMarshmellow bring home the last podium position in 3rd.
TheFlyingFinn08's Early Dominance - First Half of the Season
Brazil showed a lot more promise in a lot of ways as the race saw the Scuderia Ferrari team make their proper debut in the STSF1 World Championship. With most of the grid attending the race, you wouldn't want to guess who was going to win or what was going to happen, but it was another close fight up top with TheFlyingFinn08 tackling the two Ferrari's. He put it on pole for the first time this season as his teammate was unable to attend the Grand Prix, the Ferrari's trailing closely behind. All drivers got off to a good start and CS Akihiro for Ferrari has quite the battle with Mercedes driver TheFlyingFinn08. However, part way through the race things got a little too close as Akihiro clashes with FlyingFinn, leaving the Mercedes unscathed but leaving the Ferrari in the dirt. Having to pit once again, CS Akihiro finds himself stuck behind his teammate in 2nd, ii aM TooLeY x. A frustrating race, but TheFlyingFinn08 does the grand slam securing pole position, fastest lap and most importantly the race win.
The Chinese Grand Prix was a surprise to many. There was very little testing for the Mercedes and Ferrari team up front, however CS Akihiro managed to grab his first pole of the season just ahead of Man Lyk Ramer in the Lotus, with TheFlyingFinn08 qualifying an average 5th place. Contact early on in the first corner sees Ramer trying to make a move into a disappearing gap which spins both drivers off the track. Akihiro was to quick to make a recovery after dropping down the field passing all the drivers all the way up to 1st, including Mattsaj who was race leader at this point. CS Akihiro and TheFlyingFinn08 were in for a surprise though, as Mattsaj works a genius strategy around the rainfall that came towards the end of the grand prix. As the rest of the grid then pits for their intermediate tyres for the very last stint, CS Akihiro manages to close the gap to 2 seconds but not enough to catch the race winner Mattsaj for the Force India team. TheFlyingFinn08 finishes 3rd.
Qualifying for the Russian Grand Prix was as close as ever, but TheFlyingFinn08 takes his second pole of the season with CS Akihiro and MikeMarshmellow trailing behind. Towards the end of the first stint, Akihiro and Mike manage to get pass FlyingFinn, but at the start of the second stint it all goes pear-shaped as contact between the two leading drivers happens into Turn 13, with Akihiro's front wing coming clean off. Later on in the race, MikeMarshmellow was disqualified by in-game race stewards for excessive corner cutting and creative use of track limits. Although he was found at fault for the incident, no action was taken. TheFlyingFinn08 coasts to victory with CS Akihiro recovering to 2nd and Man Lyk Ramer securing a surprise 3rd after a tough race.
CS Akihiro takes pole at the Spanish Grand Prix of STSF1 2015 but manages only a 3rd place finish after Turn 1 collision with Man Lyk Ramer when fighting for the lead. After Akihiro being found at fault for not giving enough space to Ramer, he was awarded a qualifying ban for the following race. TheFlyingFinn08 secures fourth victory of the season to set out to make a big points lead very early on, with jgroves1996 and CS Akihiro finishing 2nd and 3rd.
Bahrain Grand Prix was always going to be interesting with one of the front runners starting at the back of the grid. TheFlyingFinn08 takes third pole of the season and has a hard battle throughout the race with Man Lyk Ramer. Akihiro is spun out in Turn 1 of the first lap and set slightly further back as jgroves1996 struggles to find his feet at the desert circuit. A collision happens late on between Man Lyk Ramer and TheFlyingFinn08 whilst fighting for the lead with no damage done to the cars whilst Akihiro goes for an unlikely 2 stop strategy to take the lead of the Bahrain Grand Prix and take first win of the season from last to first. Man Lyk Ramer secures his best finishing position of the season so far in 2nd and TheFlyingFinn08 carries on his podium streak.
Man Lyk Ramer leaves Lotus F1 Team and the racing league after several accusations about the driving of others when being involved in incidents in most of the races in the early part of the season. The rest of the drivers didn't take too kindly towards the comments and Ramer left, as the grid headed over to Monaco. TheFlyingFinn08 scrapes pole after an astonishing lap in qualifying with CS Akihiro 2nd and MikeMarshmellow 3rd. Early dramas happen as CS Akihiro and TheFlyingFinn08 make contact on Lap 1 Turn 1 resulting in a spin for TheFlyingFinn08. CS Akihiro would later be found at fault and incur a time penalty. Several crashes happen throughout the field, mixing up the grid, Akihiro has a spin on the main straight losing all of his advantage to the opposition after a costly mistake. TheFlyingFinn08 ends up taking home the win with Akihiro and Tooley finishing in 2nd and 3rd place.

Three Way Battle for Victories - Mike and Akihiro take the fight to Finn
Finn had shown early on throughout the season he was the strongest in terms of consistency and getting it right on race day. Akihiro had to execute some clean race days to bring in good results and Mike's pace had started to show as the season went on. Akihiro secure back-to-back pole positions in Singapore and Great Britain, however he had other circumstances in the Singapore after making a rookie-type mistake leading the race by crashing the car into the barriers after issues with slowing the car down. A disappointing weekend, but bringing it back after a hard but great battle with Finn at Great Britain, overtaking on the final lap to secure his second victory of the season. Finn piled up the points after winning in Singapore and finishing 2nd place at Great Britain, with Tooley and Groves securing a podium finish for themselves in Singapore and Great Britain. MikeMarshmellow made it a 1-2 finish in Singapore for Mercedes with 2nd place.
Mike brought out the pace in Rounds 10 & 11 securing back-to-back poles and a victory in Canada, his first of the season. Whilst TheFlyingFinn08 had taken victory in Mexico, a controversial race with all the collisions, nonetheless a master class on how to control a race in the lead by the championship leader. The tides turn once again as Finn shows dominance at Hungary, a track that he states is his "favourite race of the season". MikeMarshmellow then secures pole at the Italian Grand Prix with CS Akihiro closely behind locking out the front row. A surging fight from Akihiro sees him take victory for the tifosi and Ferrari team at Monza, a special Grand Prix when driving the red car.

End of Season - Championship Closing In
MikeMarshmellow carries on his run of good form with a pole and win at the Austrian Grand Prix with Finn making it a 1-2 finish for the Mercedes team whilst Xx DJ F4NT4 xX secures his first podium of the season. From the start, MikeMarshmellow makes a good getaway as Akihiro has clean start coming from 6th place on the grid. Eventually making his way up to second passing Finn in the early stages into turn 3. However, when the strategies split, Mike and Finn got away ahead in the 1-2 positions as Akihiro found trouble with the slower car of WF1 Perez on the aggressive strategy. Meanwhile, hakanso on a charge tries to fight for position against Perez but is clipped twice over two laps by WF1 Perez, costing Perez a penalty at the end of the race.
Heading into the Belgian Grand Prix, the top 3 looking really close, CS Akihiro secures another pole position with MikeMarshmellow and TheFlyingFinn08 close behind. Over the course of a race however, Finn manages to secure the lead and finish first ahead of Akihiro and Mike, carrying on the podium streak and taking the World Drivers' Championship with Mercedes several races before the end. Over in the US of A, a hard battle between Mike and Akihiro is had with Akihiro taking the lead in the later stages of the Grand Prix. Towards the end at the second to last corner, Mike makes an overly aggressive diving maneuver on Akihiro and spins him out, resulting in a time penalty at the end of the race that would cost him two positions overall. After the stewards had made their decision, Mike didn't handle it very well and makes several controversial posts over Twitter stressing that he should not have been found at fault. As a result of the profanity and aggression towards both staff and race stewards of that incident particularly, he was stripped of an STSF1 drive. This had no affect on the constructors' standings for Mercedes as they had already secured the World Constructors' Championship.

Three Rounds To Go - Battle for 3rd in the Constructors' & A Change In Form
It came to the Malaysian Grand Prix, three races to go until the end. CS Akihiro stuck it on pole for the sixth time and took home a win after yet another hard-fought battle with the championship winner TheFlyingFinn08. A hard battle for the podium saw ii aM TooLeY x take his fifth podium of the season after a great change in form.
Heading over to Japan, the qualifying battle was as hard as ever. CS Akihiro set the benchmark early on, carrying on the form of previous races in terms of pace. However, in a last minute lap from TheFlyingFinn08, he jumps Akihiro by 0.023 of a second to equal with Akihiro on pole positions, 6 in total. With the Japanese Grand Prix always being an exciting race with the active and ever-changing track conditions, it certainly lived up to expectations. Finn squeezes Akihiro out on the exit of the first corner fairly and without the Ferrari driver losing too much time. Surprisingly came IRL Montoya with pressure from behind in 3rd place as he looked to secure his first win of the season, however Akihiro managed to battle Finn through the esses and take the lead early on. Afterwards, it became a battle of strategy - an unfortunate turn of events sees Montoya lag backwards into the Mercedes of Finn and later a collision with Tooley, the race stewards' award him a time penalty handing a 1-2 finish to Ferrari with Akihiro making it three in a row. Montoya leaves satisfied with a first podium finish of the season for him and Finn obviously fuming about the unfortunate circumstances.
Unable to attend, the Ferrari team were out of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the penultimate race of the season. Finn relaxes maybe a little bit too much as he qualifies a lowly 5th for the race with a hungry IRL Montoya taking his first pole position this season. However, it all changed in the race with hard-fought battles all the way through the field - DJ F4NT4 uses this opportunity to capitalize and secure a potential first race win this season, which he manages to do just 0.3s ahead of TheFlyingFinn08 and the McLaren young gun hakanso taking his first podium this season as well.
TheFlyingFinn08 leaves the 2015 season a happy man securing the World Drivers' Championships and the World Constructors' Championship with Mercedes in the first year of STSF1, achieving 6 pole positions alongside MikeMarshmellow and CS Akihiro and 9 Grand Prix victories.
